Planting Tulips and Daffodils

Prior year plantings of Tulips, Dutch Iris, Daffodils

Narcissus Scilly and Fortune, Dutch Iris and pre-chilled Sorbetto Tulips flourish in the Brazos Valley and Robertson County, Texas, USDA zone 8b.

8 to 10 Weeks of Pre-chilling Yields Beautiful Spring Blooms

Order tulip bulbs for September/October delivery to allow 8 to 10 weeks of pre-chilling in refrigerator @ approximately 40 degrees, away from fruit and vegetables that emit ethylene gas, which will damage the bulbs.  Plant from mid December through mid January.  Pictured are Tom Pouce, a Triumph tulip cultivar.

Tips on Bulb Purchasing

Purchase bulbs from a reputable source - www.BrentandBeckys.com   www.Colorblends.com are two good sources for bulbs.  Steer clear of bulbs that are available to purchase out of season.  Look for bulbs that are acclimated to southern USDA plant hardiness zones
